Fundraiser for Lola Ya Bonobo Oct 17th 2015

When: 6-8:30pm Saturday October 17th 2015

What: Presentation and Silent Auction

Where: Hemingway African Gallery #96-Manhattan Art & Antique Center 1050 2nd Ave. New York, NY 10022

The world’s only bonobo sanctuary, Lola ya Bonobo, rescues and rehabilitates these great apes from the notorious bush meat trade. Located in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Lola stands on the front line in the battle to protect bonobos from extinction.

Bonobos, our closest living primate relatives, are female-led and are the most peaceful and amorous of all great apes.

Please join us to hear Lola’s founder, Claudine Andre, share her daring and endearing story of great ape protection and view a segment of the award-winning movie “BONOBOS: Back to the Wild.” Claudine is an internationally renowned conservationist and charismatic storyteller. The London Daily Mail applauds the movie as “The best African wildlife adventure film since ‘Born Free.'”

A silent auction featuring original art and vacation packages will be offered, along with refreshments and snacks. 20% of all sales at Hemingway African Gallery will go to Lola ya Bonobo. To learn how you can support bonobo conservation, please go to: www.lolayabonobo.org
